  So has the wt given up on prophecy altogether or what?

  for decades they've produced massive tomes on their own peculiar brand of wt-centric prophecy, but it seems like the production of prophecy-related material as of late has slowed to a trickle, their last prophecy-related book that i can recall was the minor-prophets book released a few years back.

  however that book if i recall was very vague in its exposition, focusing on daily life application rather than eschatology.

  and yet the armageddon-end-times-obedience-"generation" drumbeat grows faster and louder with less and less exposition as to how or when exactly any of this is supposed to play out.

  The urgency seems to have disappeared. When the witnesses first knocked on my door back in the early 80s they certainly did convey a sense of needing to do everything quickly as time was very short and that that seems to have gone over recent years. I was told there may not even be enough time to finish a 6 month study but don't worry cos Jehovah can read hearts. That is how soon they sincerely believed Armageddon could happen.

  What dates could they manufacture up now to bring back that sense of time running out? They have surely used up all permutaions of 70 weeks and 3 1/2 times etc.etc. They will not be able to hold on to the 607/1914 date for much longer. We have the 100th anniversary of Christ's invisble (so didn't really happen presence where he doesn't seem to have a achieved any more than before when he wasn't "present") presence in 2014 in 3 years! They are hardly going to draw attention to that date are they? Any active JWs might be able to answer this one.

  i woke up today a right grumpy basket case.... not a good day for the jehovah's witness to call on me to do there usual shepherding call, bringing me the usual mags of shite!

  i stood there on the doorstep in my pj's, care free and all fired up.

  i was asked how i was doing & then informed that they had my latest mags.

  i'm not about to do anything stupid, just feeling a little down and exhausted tonight.

  Yes cantleave is a sweetie. His whole family is lovely. I wish it was logistically possible for Sharon to come and stay with me as she is a truly lovely person too. I have met more caring and loving exjws since last summer than nearly 30 years in the borg!

  how long did it take for you to realize that something was very wrong with the 'truth'?.

  for me, it was about 2 1/2 years into studying.

  i'm a guy and i'm attracted to both guys and girls.
